The very first edition of Ladies First mapped the Romanian market, with the goal to challenge the cliches related to Romanians and Romanian women and show the world there is more to this country than vampires, sport icons and video-chat performers. Culture, contemporary talent and design – destinations are a better way to discover a nation in the social media era. After the absolute success the magazine had in Cannes, several other industries showed interested in the same kind of mapping. The founder of the project decided to go international, selecting the regions of the world with the highest contrast between what one can see in the mainstream media or in the pop culture cliche versus the very best of what those countries have to offer to the world.
