Jayda Hany has always been passionate about creative disciplines, that’s why she decided early on to study Architectural Engineering at the American University in Cairo, after which she enrolled in London College of Fashion for Footwear Design.
This has been an important part in developing her unique perspective on fashion. Through her passion, she has managed to create a distinct footwear style in a pool of a multitude of brands. Her work presents a balance between hand crafted making techniques and the usage of advanced 3D technology.
She managed the record of having BMW custom-create a car based on one of her designs. After New York Fashion Tech Week closed and the collaboration with BMW drew to completion, Hany’s fandom exploded, attracting all streetwear fashionistas.
Jayda is now well known for her futuristic style & open mind and continues to surprise everyday with her architecturally crafted ideas.
WHAT WOULD MAKE YOUR SOUL SING? WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?
Designing & Creating. Coming up with new ideas & experimenting with new materials and forms have always been my version of playtime.

A CHILDHOOD STORY THAT ANNOUNCED THE CREATIVE PERSON YOU ARE TODAY
My parents taking me to my first art lesson ever. Our neighbor was a painter and he used to teach art for kids. I remember how excited both my parents and I were and I recall this was the very first step they took to help me develop my talents. I don’t even know how they spotted my love for art and design, I was no older than 7 years old. I truly believe that if it wasn’t for my parents I wouldn’t have my brand and be where I am today.
BEST CONTEXT EVER FOR INSPIRATION
I get inspired usually by architecture, geometry, and urban city life. I have always valued the daily human interaction in general and I think a perfect context of inspiration for me would be a pedestrian journey through the streets whether in Cairo or a relevantly new city, only then that I manage to clear my head and notice new elements. I create my own sightseeing.

THE PROJECT YOU LOVED MOST
Connector- My London College of Fashion Masters Graduation Collection. I spent almost a year researching, testing, developing, and playing with different technologies. This project is very personal to me because it taught me everything about who I am as an individual and as a designer. I am forever grateful to have the privilege of testing my design abilities and pushing them way beyond my limit. It was my debut collection and it was so conceptually new.

THE PROJECT OTHERS LOVED MOST
It is hard to say. With every collection I come up with, I attract more and different audiences because I tend to add new items and new features every season.
